A Poet Vagabond

Does poeting give license

To ignore all needful chores

And leave undone the mundane

To open other doors?

A poet cannot concentrate

On special rhyming kind

If daily drudgery occupies

His time, or worse, his mind.

A writer should have lots of time

To let his thoughts just wander

O’er all the world about him

Each reflection just to ponder.

A poet simply ought to be

Unfettered, worry free.

And live the life of vagabond.

Oh! Such is fantasy.
